Get proper ice bag/pad normally in a pharmacy its filled with gel and put itin the freezer. In your case put a sock on (Don't put is straight onto your skin)put the ice bag/pad on your heel and put a sock over it to hold it in place ,should ice for 15 to 20 minutes

Jordan Henderson suffers with it. What i read that footballers do is take the cortisone repeatedly, keep playing to the point of rupture then repair it.

i dont have flat feet either..mildly over pronate.
The more i read about it there are multiple etiologies Thinking about all the connective tissues from pelvis all the way down. Sometimes i think the plantar is the symptom and not the cause..but jove its a bugger..

Ive had it for 4 years now and it’s a bugger to get rid of. I thought I had it beat but it’s come back with a vengeance. It’s now affecting my Achilles.
Basically my legs are seizing up due to old age 👴🏻👴🏻

What Sydney Iron said except i did it with cokd cans of diet coke. Had to.have blood tests initially to rule out DVT. Buy PT is really painful. Was having to.do a lot of walking up hilly ground in Durham at the time. Not nice.

Re: Plantar fasciitis

it was caused when i was 10 miles into a run, arch started hurting and from that day forth has been nothing but jip.
What was the change though i had moved from Saucony to Hoka One One the heel stack is significantly lower, hokas being about 3mm and Saucony being about 8mm.
These were worn in on several moderate runs.
Also reffing i use Copa Mondials after that i put in orthotics with a gel heel was manageable for a few months then got worse to the point of chronic ie unable to walk in the morning.
Tried all the beer can and stretching and strengthening etc...
Using a massage ball called a peanut at the moment to really dig into the tibials and Soleus muscle they are tender along with the ankle. I tell myself it helps...

Yes, have it. Tried insoles, massage, the frozen beer bottle treatment, various stretches.
Had it about 9 months, has eased slightly the last couple. Am considering physio to try and finish it off, but given your experience Razzle, not sure if it will do the trick.
Think that gets me is the varying level of discomfort. Sometimes just mildly irritating, others can barely walk.

Had this two years ago got some decent insoles and gradually it cleared up,rolling the foot on the beer can is also good advice

Get a bottle of beer, put in freezer for about 30 mins, then roll the heel of your foot on the bottle for about 10 mins, do it a couple of times a day.
In conjunction with the physio this WILL help, and eventually it does go, well it did for me.
The bonus is you get to drink the beer!!!!! And have a legitimate reason to keep the fridge well stocked.....

Flat shoes or trainers are the problem...Lack of support plus repeated use of the same shoe is the main cause.
I had the same thing but since I started buying shoes and boots and rotating them it has largely disappeared. If you must buy a trainer - make sure it isn't flat a raised heel support is better.
I love all my retro old school trainers but you get to an age where they just don't cut it anymore.
